Valencia College's nursing program requires students to adhere to specific uniform guidelines to maintain a professional and consistent appearance on campus and in clinical settings. These guidelines ensure that students are easily identifiable and meet the standards of our campus and in healthcare facilities.
Uniform Components
Scrubs:- Scrub Tops: Red with Valencia College School of Nursing logo.

- It is recommended to buy 3 or more.
- Scrub Bottoms: Black with the Valencia College Monogram.

- Style: Men's or women's style top, pants, and jackets
- Material: Comfortable, breathable fabric (polyester blend)
Polo Shirts:
- Black with Valencia College School of Nursing logo to be worn on Friday's
- Style: Men's or women's style
- Material: Comfortable, breathable fabric (65/35 poly/cotton blend)

Jackets:
- Black fleece jacket with Valencia College School of Nursing logo
- Style: Men's or women's style
- Material: 100% polyester

Shoes:
- Closed-toe, non-slip athletic or nursing shoes.
- Color: White or black.
Accessories:
- Stethoscope: A professional stethoscope is required for clinical rotations.
- Identification Badge: Students must wear a Valencia College identification badge at all times.
- Watch: A watch with a second hand is recommended for timing procedures.
- Hair: Hair must be neatly styled and secured away from the face. Scrub caps are recommended. Available for purchase online or at the campus store.
- Nails: Nails should be kept short and clean.
Additional Guidelines
- Hygiene: Maintain good personal hygiene, including showering daily and using deodorant.
- Jewelry: Avoid excessive jewelry, as it can pose a safety hazard in clinical settings.
- Tattoos: Tattoos must be covered while in clinical settings.
- Body Piercings: Remove or cover body piercings, except for small earrings.
- Name Tags: Wear a name tag with your name and student ID number.
Uniform Care
- Washing: Wash uniforms regularly according to care instructions.
- Ironing: Iron uniforms as needed to maintain a professional appearance.
- Storage: Store uniforms in a clean and dry location.
Non-Compliance
Failure to adhere to the uniform guidelines may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to:
- Warning: A verbal or written warning.
- Restriction: Temporary restriction from clinical rotations.
- Dismissal: In severe cases, dismissal from the nursing program.
